Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Muddler
  • Jigger or measuring cups
  • Strainer
  • Glass for serving

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe peaches pitted and sliced
  • 1 oz fresh basil leaves
  • 2 oz tequila preferably silver
  • 1 oz lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 oz agave syrup adjust to taste
  • Ice cubes
  • Salt or sugar for rimming the glass, optional
  • Basil leaves and peach slices for garnish

Instructions

  • Muddle the Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, add the peach slices and basil leaves. Use a muddler to gently press the ingredients together, releasing the juices and flavors. Be careful not to over-muddle the basil, as it can become bitter.
  • Add the Liquids: Pour in the tequila, lime juice, and agave syrup. If you like your margarita on the sweeter side, feel free to adjust the amount of agave syrup.
  • Shake It Up: Fill the shaker with ice cubes, cover it, and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.
  • Prepare the Glass: If desired, rim your glass with salt or sugar by running a lime wedge around the rim and then dipping it into your chosen coating.
  • Strain and Serve: Using a strainer, pour the mixture into the prepared glass filled with ice.
  • Garnish and Enjoy: Finish with a few fresh basil leaves and a peach slice on top for a beautiful presentation.
  • Sip and Relax: Take a moment to enjoy the aroma before taking your first sip!
