- 2 cups fresh watermelon cubed
- 1 ½ ounces tequila
- ½ ounce grapefruit juice freshly squeezed, if possible
- ½ ounce lime juice freshly squeezed
- ½ ounce simple syrup adjust to taste
- Pinch of salt
- Club soda to top
- Watermelon slice or wedge for garnish
- Lime wedge for garnish
- Ice cubes
Prepare the Watermelon Puree: In a blender, add the cubed watermelon. Blend until smooth. If you prefer a smoother drink, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the pulp.
Mix the Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, combine 1 cup of the watermelon puree, tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, simple syrup, and a pinch of salt. Fill the shaker with ice.
Shake It Up: Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to chill the mixture and combine the flavors.
